The men were trying to smuggle the drugs into the country on a ship that they caught up with as it anchored on Dubai Creek, near Dubai Festival City.
Police have seized 100kg of hashish and one million Captagon pills from a gang of five Asians.
The team of anti-narcotic officers caught the alleged smugglers and seized the drugs, with the men being referred to prosecutors.
Al Dhaheri said the quick response of the police force helped in the confiscation of the drugs before they reached the local market, has applauded the Dubai Police for their efforts in foiling the bid to smuggle the drugs and in apprehending these suspects.
