Sergey Brin co-founder of Google with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed

Sergey Brin, who is currently the president of Alphabet Inc. also the co-founder of Google met Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Crown Prince of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is popularly known as Fazza (Faz3).

Sheikh Hamdan on twitter mentioned that Google plan is to organize the world’s knowledge and make it available for all. Whereas Dubai’s story also plays a similar tone by building for the future.

Dubai has been created as a model city for urbanism and looks forward to both Google & Dubai working together to contribute positively to the future.

50KG Caviar, breaks Guinness Record for Atlantis – The Palm

Luxury US caviar company AmStur this New Year’s Eve broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest caviar tin. The 50kg serving of caviar was presented to guests at the resorts’ Gala Dinner and smashed the previous Guinness World Record for the world’s largest caviar tin, which was recorded in 2016, weighing in at 17kg.

The 50kg serving was presented to guests in a custom-made, diamond shaped caviar tin coined ‘Cleito’.

Alongside an official Guinness World Record adjudicator, who judged the attempt live from the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, over 5,000 lucky guests enjoyed taking part in this event.

Foundations for the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai held

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority & Chief Executive of Emirates Group, laid the foundations for the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Sunday.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed said, “The Pavilion will be an architectural marvel that all seven Emirates can rightly take pride in, both now at the ground-breaking stage, during Expo, and in legacy when it will become a lasting icon of our nation.”

It covers an area of more than 15,000 square meters; and is made up of four floors. The entire structure is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

14,000 visitors to Dubai Zoo & Safari within 2 days

Dubai Safari soft opening was on 12th December. More than 14,000 people have flocked since day one to avail the free offer to enter the Safari.

“The teams at Dubai Municipality and Dubai Safari have worked hard to deliver a world-class wildlife project that promises to be a welcome new addition to Dubai’s growing array of family-friendly attractions,” said Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Leisure Facilities at Dubai Municipality.

Residents & visitors are invited to visit Dubai Safari free of cost for the first two weeks since the soft opening. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m

Euro 6 standard bus on trial in Dubai for six months

Dubai is all set for trial run of a greener, more fuel-efficient public transport bus. RTA announced that depending on the success, more such buses would be added to the fleet. The new VDL bus would consume upto 15% less fuel than existing buses. Apart from this, it is also much lighter at 9650 kgs compared to older buses which weigh 11,200 kgs. The seating capacity has been increased to 45 seats from 34 in the older models. The RTA will assess economic feasibility and environmental benefits of the operation during the trial. Mattar Al Tayer, head of RTA said the reduction in carbon emission rate, engine efficiency, and maintenance cost among other parameters also would be assessed.
