Traffic violations in the last five months dropped by 22.4 percent, according to statistics released by the Sharjah Police on Tuesday.
There were 74,184 violations compared to 95,718 violations recorded in the same period of last year.
Jumping the red signal has also witnessed a decline from 6,742 violations in 2016 to 3,856 this year.Motorists not wearing the seat belt dropped from 18,501 instances in 2016 to 7,027 this year.
Motorists not adhering to lanes and jumping from one lane to another also dropped to 57,898 cases this year as compare to 61,565 in 2016.
