The Dubai Civil Defence has launched a first-of-its kind “SOS” system for buildings.

The application allows the civil defence to monitor safety systems in buildings, and will allow residents and owners to inform the authorities in case of emergencies at the touch of a button.

According to officials, this will enhance emergency response times and reduce losses, as well as helping the Dubai Civil Defence ensure that necessary safety systems are available and maintained on time.

The system will initially be in place in 58,823 buildings in Dubai. By the end of the year, it will be expanded to 66,544 buildings.
