The Hamriyah fruit, vegetable, fish and meat market will soon be opened to the public, after construction work by Sharjah Public Works concluded recently.
The market is characterised by a unique, traditional design inspired by local heritage.
Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi said that the market was established under the directives of His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to transform Hamriyah to into a comprehensive facility to meet off the residents’ food shopping needs. “The project was handed today to Sharjah Municipality, to prepare for the opening,” Al Suwaidi added.
This market faces the fish market, located in a 770 square metre area, with 20 stalls for the sale and cleaning of fish.
