Road fatalities in Dubai went down during the first four months of this year with 48 deaths recorded as compared to 65 during the same period last year – a drop of 26.15 per cent.
Last year, the Dubai traffic department recorded 198 fatalities due to traffic accidents, while in 2015, 166 deaths was recorded. The Dubai Police seeks to reduce the causes of accidents in the emirate, using the latest techniques of traffic control, including cameras and radars along the streets of Dubai.
The increase in traffic accidents and traffic violations are the outcome of growing vehicle fleet and urban growth.
