Senior police officers across the country felt that the new traffic law which comes into effect on July 1 will help in reducing the fatalities on road and opined that the results can be seen after law’s implementation. Maj-Gen Al Zafein, Assistant Chief for Operational Affairs at Dubai Police and Director of the Federal Traffic Council said the main purpose of the law is to make roads safer and it has tough punishments for dangerous offenses like reckless driving. Also fines for some offenses have been reduced.
Sharjah Police also have chalked out a comprehensive plan to make motorists aware of the new law.
