The eighth edition of the Sharjah Social Work Conference will begin at Al Qasimia University today. Noted social workers from the UAE and GCC will discuss the challenges facing social work and its future.
The conference, which will end on April 12, is being organised by the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.
Mariam Al Qatari, acting chairperson of the SSSD, said more than 200 social workers will participate in the conference, which features 10 workshops. The participants at the conference will review the best practices and initiatives that will help take social work in the country to the next level
