A minor fire had erupted at Sharjah’s Sahara Centre but was quickly controlled on Friday.
Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director of Sharjah Civil Defence, said the fire started in the stove of one of the resturants.
However, staff and customers at the affected restaurant as well as neighbouring shops were evacuated.
A team of firefighters from fire station of the centre and industrial area stations arrived at the site and found the fire erupted in the oven and spread to the kitchen. The fire was doused in 10 minutes.
