A man stabbed to death a former roommate when he gatecrashed a Christmas party last year.
The Court of First Instance heard that the 36-year-old Sri Lankan worker was drunk when he spotted the victim intruding into the party and having a brawl with his two brothers.
During interrogation, the defendant claimed he was not even aware where he stabbed the victim as he was under the influence of alcohol. He surrendered himself to the police in less than two days after the incident. The accused had fled the scene after stabbing his former roommate and sought refuge at his friend’s place in Sharjah.
He has been charged with murder and consuming alcohol without a license.
