The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) set up a new online portal where the employers can issue NOCs for obtaining driver’s license. It only takes three minutes now with a focus on gradually phasing out the existing paper based transactions. The employers need to sign-up on the RTA website to issues NOCs.
Under the new rules first driving license issued for drivers of age 21 years and above is valid for only 2 years. When renewed after, it will be valid for 10 years for citizens and 5 years for others. The driving license should be renewed every year for drivers aged 18 to 21 years.
