Two categories of winners will be added in the fifth edition Ebda’a Awards, according to Azza Al Qubaisi, UAE’s first national jewellery artist. She stated that the national jewellery design award competition, hosted by International Jewellery & Watch Show (JWS) along with her partnership, has added burqa and creative design, to the existing ones of pearl design, evening wear and modern Emirati.
Al Qubaisi is overwhelmed with the response for the competition. “There were 60 finalists with the highest number of Emirati submissions. Usually it’s 50-50, but this year, we had 90 per cent submissions from Emiratis.”
