More than 10,000 people have utilised Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) installed in both Sharjah and Dubai, according to Bee’ah, the environmental management company. The first-of-its-kind CSR initiative in the country rewarding UAE residents for their recycling efforts has received “keen interest” from the public, according to Bee’ah.
Open to the general public, every participant in Bee’ah Rewards programme is eligible to win prizes while using the RVMs. Anyone using the RVM and scanning the unique receipt code using the Bee’ah’s app automatically enters the prize draw. The monthly winners are announced on Bee’ah’s social media accounts on the first day of each month. The programme has gained public interest, impacting recycling behaviour for years to come, said Bee’ah. The company expects to substantially increase the recycling rates by the end of 2017.
