The Hyperloop One achieved speeds of 310mph on the second test. Prototype of the passenger pod was deployed for the first time at the experimental track in Nevada desert. The experimental track is a tube pressurized to a near vacuum and the pod is propelled by electric motors. Hyperloop One is proposing a fast-transport link between Dubai and Abu Dhabi with a travel time of 12 minutes.
The company’s CEO, Rob Lloyd said after the tests that the technology has been proven and they are ready to enter into discussions about the full commercialization of the Hyperloop technology.
