A female visitor went on trial accused of carrying tramadol in her underwear and trying to smuggle the drugs into the country.
Abu Dhabi Criminal Court heard that the Jordanian woman was stopped at the Abu Dhabi International Airport early this year after security authorities found three small plastic bags containing the prescriptions-only drugs inside her clothes.
The woman, who was visiting the UAE, had just arrived on a flight from an Arab country and was still in the arrival hall when custom officers suspected her behaviour.
